Dear Colleagues,

     "FtM Phoenix" Group and menZDRAV Foundation supported by the Open Society Foundations are pleased to invite you to the 2nd Regional practical Conference “Eurasian Trans Health” that will take place on October 27-28, 2014 in Moscow (Russia).

In the programme of the Conference will be reviewed an interrelated spectrum of problems on organizing care and treatment of patients with discomfort about their sex/gender identity within the following areas:
  • Psychiatry;
  • Psychology;
  • Endocrinology;
  • Governmental Programmes.

     Recognized practicing professionals in sex reassignment issues from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, etc. will participate in the Conference. WPATH members from Canada, the Netherlands and other countries will give Skype presentations.


     Specialized materials in Russian will be distributed during the Conference. Besides presentations and panel discussions there will be workgroups with medical professionals and representatives of patients’ organisations to discuss practical problems and jointly elaborate the decisions on improving the access and quality of medical care to transsexual, transgender, and gender nonconforming people.

     The programme of the 2nd Regional practical Conference “Eurasian Trans Health” consists of (a) presentations that will allow participants to present their experience in organizing care and in treatment of patients with discomfort about their sex/gender identity and (b) of working groups that will allow to find the solutions both in narrow-purpose and in a multidisciplinary professional circle.

     Applications for presentations corresponding to subject sets of the Conference are accepted through the registration form of the participant by October 5, 2014, 9 pm Moscow time. Preferable type of presentation is Power Point.

     After the Conference, the Organizing Committee will share the presentations through the Conference participants' mailing list.

 

 

     Thanks to support of the Open Society Foundations, the Conference Organizing Committee has a limited number of fellowships available to cover travel or/and accommodation costs for participants from CIS countries, South Caucasus, and the Baltic States: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Estonia. Applications for fellowships are accepted through the registration form of the participant by September 28, 2014, 9 pm Moscow time.

     The Conference Organizing Committee, by participant's requests, may provide an official Letter of Invitation with signature and stamp of the host organisation.

 

 

     To participate in the Conference, all participants should fill in a registration form and send it via email to the Conference Organizing Committee at transzdorov@gmail.com. Unregistered persons will not be allowed to attend!
     As of October 14, 2014 there are 60 registered participants from 8 CIS countries!

 

 

      Composition of the Organizing Committee. 14 volunteers, activists and doctors who participated in previous Conference "CIS Trans Health 2013": 7 people - from Russia (Kirill - Chair of the Organizing Committee, "FtM Phoenix" Group; Alexander - trans* activist, St. Petersburg, and others), 2 people - from Belarus, one per country - from Kazakhstan (Dmitriy Tereshkevich, Director of Public Union "Human Health Institute"), Tajikistan, U.S. (Kellan - Deputy Director of "FtM Phoenix" Group), Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
